Easing The Transition To Green Cleaning Products
(Johnstown, NY) - Federal, State and City laws are beginning to favor
purchasing of environmentally friendly cleaning products. Some
facilities are proactively sourcing these green products even if it is
not obligatory by law. As a result, purchasing agents are tasked with
a new set of criteria and challenges.
Before setting out to produce green cleaners,
Spray Nine Corporation
took a realistic look at market perception. According to Elizabeth
Bridge, Director of Strategic Planning, “Performance and economy are
the two major areas where purchasers fear disappointment. We decided
we would only launch a green cleaning line when we could effectively
address these valid concerns.”
According to Bridge, Spray Nine's new Adirondack Green<®
line "meets
these challenges head-on. Each product is, of course,
Green Seal
(GS-37) certified. This is the major definition of 'green' accepted by
legislation that drives green purchasing. Each product carries on the
Spray Nine
tradition of heavy-duty performance and economy. For
example, many green cleaners perform at dilutions ranging from 8:1 –
10:1. Our
Adirondack Green All Purpose Cleaner,
at a dilution of 16:1, matched a competitive benchmark that uses twice
as much product (8:1). This represents savings on labor and chemical
use."
The Adirondack Green
line consists of three products, each available
in 4 x 1 gallon, 5 gallon, and 55 gallon containers. The products are:
All-Purpose Cleaner/Degreaser,
Multi-Surface Bathroom Cleaner, and
Glass Cleaner.
Suggested markets include
industrial,
institutional,
schools, and
municipalities.
Spray Nine Corporation has also released
white papers explaining
Federal,
State and
City laws that require
environmentally preferable
purchasing. They are available at the
"White
Papers" section of
www.spraynine.com. A
guide to
green standards, including
Green Seal,
Design for Environment (DfE)
and Environmental Choice (Ecologo) is also available.
